MLS launched the MLS All-Star Jersey and match ball in 2019. Inspired by the 2009 MLS All-Star Game in Orlando, the Jersey and match ball will be unveiled at the Orlando City Stadium on July 31.
The new MLS All-Star shirt is inspired by Orlando City’s home jersey, the local team hosting the event. The Jersey is made of Orlando City Club’s iconic royal purple with light purple. The five-pointed star and maple leaf patterns in pixel style pay tribute to the two countries on which MLS relies: the United States and Canada. Ribbed collar and Adidas triumph on shoulders add a touch of retro to this modern style jersey.
Gold “407” was added under the collar, in which the number “0” and the initials of “Orlando” were cleverly combined. This number is also the area code of Orlando. The planetary logo under the Jersey pays tribute to Cape Canaveral, the world-renowned space launch base, and the aerospace industry around Orlando.
In addition to the MLS soccer Jersey of 2019, the All-Star Game Ball of 2019, also made by Adidas, is based on the official MLS match ball of this season. Like the All-Star shirt, the game ball also features a pixel-style Pentagon and maple leaf pattern composed of royal purple and light purple, praising the United States and Canada on which MLS relies. Golden details are added to the game ball to make it more dignified and gorgeous.
