Spain’s Barcelona Football Club unveiled the team’s new Barcelona Jersey 2019/2020. The red and blue checkerboard pattern replaces the traditional Blaugrana stripes on the home jersey, which is the first time Barcelona’s Home Jersey has been introduced.
The inspiration for Barcelona’s new season home jersey design comes from Barcelona’s famous expansion area (Eixample), where Antonio Gaudi, the great Spanish architect, has created his masterpiece. In addition to the red and blue checkerboard pattern that first appeared on Barcelona’s home jersey, another significant change in the New Jersey is the position of the Catalan flag. Unlike previous designs where the Catalan flag was placed at the back collar, the Catalan flag on the new home jersey was placed at the collar of the Jersey and presented in a unique “V” shape.
Team captain Pique said: “The New Jersey has an exciting new design. Although it looks different from previous jerseys, it is still 100% Barcelona. More exciting is that the design shows the connection between the club and the fans and the people who drive the city forward.
Blue jeans and blue socks with red edges together create a classic image of Barcelona. In addition to introducing the new Barcelona Jersey 2019/2020 for the men’s team, Nike has also created a new season home jersey for the Barcelona women’s football team with the same design, and adopted tailoring more in line with women’s body characteristics. Barcelona Home Jersey for the 2019/20 season has been officially launched today.
