Chelsea Football Club unveiled the team’s new Chelsea Third Jersey 2019/20 season. The New Jersey is reminiscent of the club’s glorious era. The shiny orange contrasts sharply with the low-key black, just like the Away Jersey of the 1994/96 season.
“You can see the impact of the 1990s on fashion that season, and I think the New Jersey is very attractive to everyone,” Chelsea midfielder Mason Munter said. “Young Chelsea fans will love its Street-style appearance, and old fans will recall the legends of the club’s history and the great games when they see it.”
In addition to orange details, the New Chelsea Jersey has many design elements from the 1990s, dark lines on the fabric, square collars in classical style and the retro Nike Futura logo. The orange stripes on the collar and cuffs are more striking against the black jersey, which is made up of oblique dark stripes formed by the club name CFC. The word “Chelsea FC” appeared on the neckline, making the New Jersey look more nostalgic in the 1990s.
“Chelsea’s changes reflect the wider changes sweeping English football in the early 1990s,” said Peter Hobbins, senior director of soccer apparel design at Nike. “In the new season, we will combine the design elements of that era with the innovations of today’s Nike, hoping that this New Chelsea Jersey will serve Stamford Bridge. Some memories of the special time.
