Roma Football Club has unveiled its new
Roma Home Jersey 2019/20. The New Jersey joins the lightning pattern representing Jupiter, the king of ancient Roman mythology and gods, hoping that under the protection of the patron saint of the city of Rome, the team can defend the glory of the home court and reproduce its brilliance.
The red dynamic lightning pattern symbolizing Jupiter appears on the collar and cuff of the new jersey. Besides representing Jupiter, the king of the gods, the lightning pattern is also a symbol of the unity and fighting spirit of Rome. Therefore, designers hope that through this detailed design to motivate the team in the new season to guard the home court, win the victory, reproduce the brilliance and make every effort.
A magic scroll pattern originating from the club's nickname "La Magica" (Magic) was added to the collar. The Roman number "MCMXXVII" on the scroll represents 1927, which is the year when the club was founded. White pants and wine-red socks together constitute the classic image of the Rome home jersey. Lightning pattern added to the socks and the club name "AS ROMA". In addition to the men's team, the Roman women's football team will also wear the new home gown to defend their home honour.
"Ancient Roman mythology and its influence play a vital role in the design of
new Roma jerseys 2019," said Peter Hopins, senior director of soccer clothing design at Nike. "Jupiter is the focus of our design this year. Lightning has been used in design as its symbolic element."
